Simply put, Writesonic automates the mundane aspects of the writing process, such as outline creation, idea generation, and revisions. This, in turn, grants you the freedom to focus on the creative and strategic aspects of the writing process.

Who Created Writesonic?

Writesonic was founded by Samanyou Garg, a 26-year-old computer scientist and entrepreneur.

Garg was one of the regional winners of the 2019 Global Undergraduate Awards, also known as the Junior Nobel Prize. He’s also the founder of other AI-powered projects, including Photosonic, Zesture, and TLDR This.

Garg wasn’t the only one behind the creation of Writesonic, though. The AI writing software is backed by a team of engineers, developers, and language experts that share a common vision of simplifying the content writing process.

Though specific information about the individuals behind Writesonic isn’t available, you can find their names on the company’s About Us page.

Top Benefits of Writesonic

While the use of Writesonic doesn’t eliminate the need for human reviews and revisions, the AI-powered writing platform helps make your job easier as a writer by offering the following benefits:

User-Friendly Interface

Writesonic’s AI writing capabilities are designed to cater to different levels of experience. Whether you’re a beginner writer or a seasoned professional, and whether or not this is your first experience with AI, you’ll find Writesonic extremely easy to use.

Though this AI writer is packed with features and tools, the intuitiveness and simplicity of the platform’s interface make navigating between the different features and tools a breeze.

AI Writing Templates and Tools

Writesonic Library of AI Tools and Templates

Writesonic features a powerful AI writer that enables you to create short-form and long-form content based on the template or tool you choose.

You get to choose from dozens of templates and tools divided into the following categories:

  • General-purpose writing (e.g., paraphrasing tool, content shortener, sentence expander, emails, and bios)
  • Articles and blogs (e.g., blog ideas, blog intros, blog conclusions, blog outlines, story generator, and instant article writer)
  • Social media (e.g., LinkedIn posts, Instagram captions, Facebook captions, and Twitter threads)
  • E-commerce (e.g., Amazon product description, product titles, product features, and sponsored brand ads)
  • Ads and marketing tools (e.g., Facebook ads, Google ads, LinkedIn ads, SEO meta tags, and YouTube descriptions)
  • Website copy (e.g., landing pages, page headlines, CTAs, meta titles, and meta descriptions)
  • Create AI art (Writesonic includes a free AI image generator!)
  • Others (e.g., real-estate listing descriptions, listicle ideas, article summarizers, keyword extractors, and analogy makers)

Idea and Headline Generation

If you’re looking for a source of inspiration or a solution to your temporary writer’s block, Writesonic can be of help. All you have to do is feed it a prompt or two about what you’re attempting to write and ask it to generate content ideas for you.

Additionally, you can use Writesonic to generate creative and compelling headlines for your content. And if you’re struggling with the flow, Writesonic can help you generate well-structured outlines for your content.

Content Expansion

Another benefit that Writesonic offers is the ability to expand on existing content to make it more comprehensive. This can come in handy when trying to update a piece of content you’ve written.

Instead of having to rewrite the entire piece from scratch, provide Writesonic with the additional information and details you’d like it to integrate into your already-written content.

SEO Content Optimization

Search Engine Optimized Long Form Content from Writesonic content writer

If you’re a digital marketer, you’d be happy to know you can use Writesonic to improve your SEO (search engine optimization). You can ask the AI-driven platform to suggest relevant keywords, provide SEO-friendly guidance, and craft attention-grabbing titles.

Better yet, you can provide Writesonic with a list of keywords you’d like to use and ask the platform to weave them into a given piece of content naturally.

AI-Powered Editing

One of the things I don’t like about the process of creating content is having to check my grammar and overall coherence. Luckily, Writesonic spares you the hassle of extensive manual editing.

You don’t have to worry about poor grammar, misspellings, and punctuation mistakes when using Writesonic. This AI writing software also excels in suggesting edits and improvements.

Collaboration and Sharing

Writesonic enables you to work on and share your drafts with others, allowing for real-time feedback and collaboration. You’ll find this very useful if you’re part of a team or if you work with several clients.

On top of that, Writesonic enables users to leave comments and provide feedback directly in the document. The platform also keeps track of each document’s version history for revision control purposes.

Language Translation

Writesonic supports over 24 languages, including English, French, Spanish, German, Italian, Dutch, Russian, and Japanese.

You can use this powerful AI writer to create content in any of the supported languages, as well as translate between them.

Powerful Generative AI Bots

Chatsonic Generated Facebook Ad for a Food Delivery Business

Writesonic is one of the best AI writing tools for generative bots. Some AI writers feature only one bot (often a chatbot), but Writesonic features three different bots!

The first bot is Chatsonic, a conversational AI NLP processor with GPT-4 capabilities. It’s trained and powered by Google Search and can help keep you updated on trending topics and current events.

The second bot is Botsonic, which is a website-based chatbot that enables businesses to interact with website visitors. Not only can it interpret and respond to user queries, but it can also provide specific information and perform tasks.

The third bot is Photosonic. It’s an AI art generator that allows you to create any art, from photorealism to abstract art. It can even create vectors and 3D images! In short, you no longer have to waste your time hunting for stock images.

Who Should Use Writesonic?

Whether you’re involved in content creation or need written material for varying purposes, Writesonic can definitely be of help! Here’s a list of users who can benefit from using Writesonic:

Before I tell you what the Pro plan has to offer, I must first highlight the fact that Writesonic has two quality models to choose from if you opt for a paid plan, namely Premium (GPT-3.5) and Superior (GPT-4 and GPT-4 32K).

The Superior model offers improved intelligence, smarter contextual responses, and a better understanding of inputs. It also supports longer texts as inputs and outputs and offers enhanced comprehension for languages other than English.

Check out this guide on the different GPT models to learn more.

Now, the Pro plan is divided into six tiers that vary in terms of pricing, writing capacity, and number of users. The pricing and number of users are the same across the two quality models, but the writing capacity isn’t.

Writesonic Review: Pros and Cons

Hand written balance between Writesonic pros and cons

Source: DepositPhotos

There’s a lot to like about Writesonic, but there are also a few negatives to consider. Weigh the following pros and cons to determine if Writesonic is a good fit for you.

What I Like About Writesonic
  • User-friendly interface that’s suitable for all levels of experience
  • Efficient and quick content generation for various formats and use cases
  • Powerful AI-driven editing tools for enhancing content quality
  • Collaboration and sharing capabilities for streamlined teamwork
  • Capable of writing and translating between over 24 languages
  • Offers content expansion, shortening, rewriting, SEO optimization, and more
  • Assists in idea, headline, and outline generation
  • Plenty of integrations, including WordPress, Slack, Surfer SEO, and more

Whether you’re a content creator, social media manager, freelancer writer, or simply someone with basic writing needs, it’s clear that Writesonic has a lot to offer you. And the fact that it has a free plan makes it even more appealing.

That being said, be sure to consider the following downsides before committing to Writesonic.

What Could Be Improved
  • May produce content that requires some fine-tuning
  • Writesonic’s content may lack a human tone
  • Not the best option in terms of customizations and user preferences
  • Questionable content quality with highly technical subjects

Despite its remarkable content quality, Writesonic struggles with highly technical topics. It also struggles to infuse its writing with human elements and personality.

Writesonic Alternatives

Not sold on Writesonic and are looking for an alternative? Here are some of the best AI writers available today:

Jasper AI

Jasper AI writing assistant home page

Jasper AI is an AI writing tool that specializes in marketing copy. If you’re looking to generate blog posts, ad copy, product descriptions, or social media captions, Jasper AI is the tool for you.

Some of Jasper AI’s most notable features include text and image AI generation, document sharing, multi-user login, plagiarism checking, auto-saving, and brand voice customization.

The platform has hundreds of templates that cover virtually all long-form and short-form content use cases. Jasper AI’s content is accurate, well-written, and sounds natural.

Jasper is honestly quite similar to Writesonic, but it’s more expensive.

Rytr

Rytr AI writing assistant an alternative to Writesonic

Rytr is another popular AI writing assistant that can generate different types of content, from full blog posts to marketing and sales copy. It’s an excellent choice for freelance writers, marketers, and business owners.

Rytr is very user-friendly regardless of experience. It’s also available in a free version, so you get to try it before committing to a paid plan. What I like the most about Rytr is its AI image generation and ability to choose your preferred writing style and tone.

Frase

Generate content with Frase AI tool

Frase is a full-fledged content writing platform that enables you to identify, analyze, and categorize content opportunities. In addition to having a built-in AI writing feature, Frase also helps you with SEO optimization and research.

The AI-generated content produced by Frase is well-written and has a slight personal touch. That being said, I wouldn’t recommend using it for intros and conclusions. And though the produced content is mostly error-free, human revisions may be needed.

Frase doesn’t have a free plan, but it does offer a 5-day trial for only $1, with the ability to cancel at any time. All the paid plans offer features like content editing, custom templates, document sharing, automated content briefs, and more.

Copy AI

Writesonic alternative, Copy ai, for creating marketing content

Copy AI is a copywriting tool that’s perfect for email marketers, bloggers, copywriters, social media managers, and even creative writers. From digital ad copy, sales copy, and product descriptions to introductions, outlines, and bios, Copy AI can do it all.

Copy AI has a free plan that allows you to write up to 2,000 words per month—no credit card required. It might not be the most generous free plan out there, but it should be enough for you to determine whether or not this AI writer is worth your while.

ChatGPT

ChatGPT, one of Writesonic alternative AI tools

Developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT is an advanced language model designed to engage in conversational interactions. It excels in natural language generation, contextual understanding, and idea generation.

ChatGPT does an excellent job of producing coherent, well-structured text. On top of that, it can provide suggestions, create smooth outlines, and produce quality content for a range of use cases and formats.

Like Writesonic, ChatGPT offers topic expansion capabilities, language translation, grammar correction, and creative text generation. The main downside to ChatGPT is that you can’t rely on it to be an authoritative source of information. Fact-checking is important.

Common Questions About Writesonic

Which Is Better: Jasper or Writesonic?

The answer depends on the intended use case and your level of experience.

If you’re new to using AI writing platforms (or on a budget!) and are more concerned about content creation and writing efficiency, Writesonic is your best bet.

If you’re an experienced user with a sizable budget looking to build and deploy sophisticated chatbots and create lots of different kinds of marketing content, Jasper is the better choice.

What Are the Disadvantages of Writesonic?

The main Writesonic disadvantage is that it occasionally produces content that requires extensive editing (similar to all AI-powered editing tools). This is especially the case with highly technical topics.

Additionally, Writesonic’s content often lacks a human or personal touch.

What Is the Quality of Words in Writesonic?

Writesonic has two quality models: Premium and Superior. The premium model is based on GPT-3.5, while the Superior model is based on GPT-4 and GPT-4 32K.

As of the time of writing of this Writesonic review, 100 Superior words are equal to 300 Premium words.

Is Writesonic Free to Use?

You can use Writesonic for free, but you’ll be limited in terms of monthly writing capacity and access to premium features.

Final Thoughts: Should You Buy Writesonic?

All things considered, Writesonic is a very capable and user-friendly AI assistant that covers virtually all content-related use cases and formats. Its main downside is that it struggles with technical topics and lacks a personal/human element.

Whether or not you should subscribe to Writesonic boils down to your specific user needs and budget. This is why I highly recommend taking advantage of the platform’s free trial to test Writesonic and figure out if it aligns with your content creation goals.
