It’s hard to ignore: platforms like Instagram and Facebook have put videos at the forefront of the social conciousness. And in this increasingly visual digital landscape, making videos that grab attention isn’t just a good idea — it’s essential!
The tricky part? For many, the idea of editing videos with complicated software programs has been intimidating and reserved for those with a ton of experience. It’s easy to feel out of depth, thinking it might require high-end software, expensive equipment, or professional know-how.

It may not have all the features of a professional video editing program, but it’s perfect for making social media posts, promo videos and content marketing videos quickly and easily!
As an independent filmmaker and perpetual creative, I’ve taken a close look at the software’s capabilities in this invideo review. Let’s journey together to see if it lives up to the hype and if it’s the tool your video arsenal has been missing!

invideo Pricing and Plans
Pricing and value for money is one factor that determines whether you’ll use a video editor.
Considering the features of invideo, you’d be surprised to know that it has a free plan. And it has two paid plans, business and unlimited, that offer access to more assets.
Free Version
The free plan is suitable for anyone who wants to explore the platform. You’ll have access to the standard media library, over 5,000 video templates, automatic text-to-speech, and all the video editing tools.
However, you can only create a 15-minute video with invideo’s watermark. Also, you won’t be able to export the video, but you can share the link.
Business Plan
This plan is pegged at $30 monthly or $15 if you pay for the year. It’s suitable for tutors, small businesses, and influencers.
It offers access to 10 iStock media files, over a million premium media, and the ability to export 60 HD videos monthly. Also, you can remove invideo’s watermark and remove 20 backgrounds per month.
Unlimited Plan
For access to unlimited HD video exports, you’ll pay $30 per month for annual billing or $60 monthly. You’ll also access 120 iStock media, remove 40 backgrounds, and the editor’s watermark. The unlimited plan is ideal for agencies and large teams.
invideo offers a lifetime business plan at $399. It’s suitable for influencers, filmmakers, and businesses with heavy video demands. You can contact the customer support team to purchase the plan.
Creating Videos With invideo
Now, let’s see how to create videos with invideo.
Getting Started
To get started, you’ll visit invideo’s website and sign up. You can gain free access using your Google or Facebook account or inputting your name and email address. Even though they let you create videos for free, you need to upgrade to a paid account to use some premium features and download the videos you make.
The site will prompt you to select your role. So, you have to choose the option that best describes why you want to use the tool.
Next, you’ll create a team and invite collaborators via email or share the link with them. However, this step is optional.
Features and Tools
Once you’re logged in, you’ll find the following video creation features on the dashboard:
- Templates
- Text to video
- Stock media
- Editor
There are short video tutorials provided by InVideo that show you how to use each feature best.
The editor contains several tools. These include videos, images, music, text, logos, and elements. You can also upload your own media to the blank canvas at the center and start editing, but the file shouldn’t be larger than 200 MB.
Below the canvas, you’ll find the flexible timeline, where you can control the length of your scenes. You can also split scenes and add a fade-in and fade-out effect.
Pre-Made Templates and Themes
If you feel stuck or don’t want to start from scratch, the pre-made templates can help you create your first video. Click on “Templates” on your dashboard to find some suggestions. If you don’t find one that suits your needs, enter a theme in the search bar.
You can select the size of the template. There’s square (1:1), wide (16:9), and vertical (9:16). You can also add text, animations, and other effects. If you’re not satisfied with the arrangement of your scenes, you can slide through the timeline to fix it. There are options for looping, cropping, and trimming the video.
In ‘AI text to video,’ you can upload a script or blog post from a URL and it will create captions along with b-roll footage. There’s many different templates and stock videos you can choose from.
In ‘Stock Media,’ you can start creating your video by choosing different stock videos you’d like to use in your video.
Then if you click on ‘Editor,” it will open up a blank canvas with an empty timeline ready for you to use (see below).
Once you’re in the editor, you can choose from various features and media to add to your video. They provide many different stock footage clips, which you can add to your timeline. Be careful, as some of the footage is NOT free.
InVideo allows you to trim the footage, which is a nice feature and a bit more advanced than other online editors I’ve seen.
It builds your video on a timeline like a professional video editor application.
You can also add music to your video, and sort through different categories and genres to find the perfect song.
I also enjoyed how invideo lets you trim the song and move it around the timeline, giving more customization to your video.
Under ‘Text,” there were many animated typography and text templates, such as this lower third. That was also a nice feature that I haven’t seen in many other online editors. All of these text templates are also customizable!
Another cool feature is the ‘Collage’ feature which lets you add multiple videos at once. These templates even animate the layers, making everything look even more professional.
Sharing and Publishing Your Projects
Once you’re done with your video and go to download it, sadly you’ll see that you need to have a monthly or yearly membership in order to download the video (you can, however, share a link to your video after editing it). I thought maybe it was because I used premium clips, so I went and replaced those with free clips, but it still wanted me to pay to download.
Right now, InVideo is asking for $30/month or $180/year. While this price is decent, it’s competing with professional video editors like Adobe Premiere Pro and Final Cut Pro. If you’re looking to do a lot of manual editing for professional companies, I would suggest just learning regular editing software with a similar price and much more advanced features.
But if you’re doing content creation for social media posts or marketing videos, then InVideo definitely gives you a lot of customization with their features and the price point may be worth it for you!
It’s definitely a great program if you want to create “faceless” videos using AI, or if you want to use a quick and easy editing program.
Another great feature for digital content creators is that you can share your videos on Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube directly from your invideo dashboard.
Pros and Cons of invideo – What Are Customers Saying?

Conclusion: Should You Buy invideo?
invideo is a powerful video creation tool that helps you create professional-looking videos for all your social media content and video marketing needs. With its easy-to-use interface and wide range of features, you can create videos quickly and with minimal effort.
I would say that invideo is best for beginner to intermediate video editors – professionals should likely stick to a more advanced editing program. However, for YouTubers, “faceless” video makers and social media influencers and creators, invideo is a fantastic choice! I love the large number of editing features (see demo above) and the ability to publish video clips to my social media channels directly from the program.
I’d recommend starting with the free version to try it out and test the waters. When you’re ready to go pro, there are two affordable plans to choose from. Happy editing!
