I don’t know about you, but I’m constantly searching for ways to make my life easier, automate my tasks, and be more efficient.

That’s what makes this new AI video strategy so great – you can automatically turn text into an entire video with just a few clicks! And, it’s a surprisingly good video.

I’ve been a digital content creator for a few years now, and I know how tiring it can be to constantly produce new content.

But with AI text-to-video, now you can easily turn your written content into video so you can diversify your platforms without spending hours and hours on it.

So, let’s discuss when to use AI text-to-video and how to do it quickly while still creating a good video that actual humans will want to watch.

Text-to-video is when artificial intelligence automatically converts a piece of text into a video that gives pretty much the same information.

AI text-to-video is a relatively new technology, but it’s already revolutionizing the video creation process. AI has made it much easier and less expensive for businesses and individuals to convert their existing articles into pretty-darn-good videos.

How to Convert Text into Video Using AI

1. Understand Your Audience

Before starting to create your video, you need to understand your intended viewers.

Knowing who you’re creating content for will help you figure out your topic, style, and tone.

Define Your Target Demographic

  • Or maybe stock videos combined with text (can work well for any kind of video).

Pay attention to which videos receive high engagement rates (such as likes and comments) and view count – use this information to determine which kind of content your audience likes best.

Hint: You can click on “popular videos” on any YouTube channel to see what their top ‘outlier’ videos have been.

Determine Their Preferred Video Length & Format

  • Really short-form: Videos under 60 seconds long in a vertical format like TikTok videos, Instagram reels, and YouTube shorts are extremely popular these days because they give easily digestible information, fast.
  • Short-form: Maybe your audience prefers wide-screen videos that are only a few minutes long. If that’s the case, consider looking into AI video editing tools such as Pictory. This video software will take your long-form videos and use AI to automatically transform them into shorts.
  • Long-form: Longer videos (10+ minutes) are best for in-depth discussions, tutorials, or storytelling content.

Now that you have your tool, it’s time to write your script.

You can either write a custom script specifically for the video or repurpose some content from blog posts or social media captions.

This script should be concise and easy to understand.

Every great video starts with a story that hooks you in. To create these kinds of stories in your videos, start by figuring out the main things you want to say โ€“ that’s going to be the core message of the video.

Then, build a story around this central theme using relatable characters and situations that resonate with your audience.

To write a good video script:

  • Break down your content into short sentences or bullet points. Try to avoid overloading information because giving too much detail at once can overwhelm your audience.
  • Highlight key information and use descriptive language.
  • Add transitions between sections to create a smooth flow throughout the video.
  • Try using an AI writing program, like Jasper, Writesonic, or ChatGPT, to help you create your video script. Some of the AI video-generating programs will do this for you too!

4. Generate Your Video

Once you turn your text into a video, you’ll want to edit the visuals and pacing to make sure the content is engaging.

Here are some tips for editing your video:

  • Visuals: Use relevant images, video clips, or animations that complement the story. Most programs have built-in libraries of royalty-free media for this purpose.
  • Vary shot types: Use different camera angles and shot sizes to also keep your video engaging.
  • Pacing: Keep an eye on pacing when editing the footage – too slow or too fast can quickly lose your audience’s interest.
  • Narration: Add voiceovers or background music to give depth and emotion to your message. Some tools even provide AI-generated voices in different languages and accents.
  • Music: Use the program’s royalty-free music library or an AI music generator to add original sound and music to your video.

5. Optimize Your Video

To find the right keywords for your content, you can use tools like Google Keyword Planner or Ahrefs Keywords Explorer. Make sure to include both short-tail and long-tail keywords that describe your video topic.

Write Optimized Titles and Descriptions

Your video’s title should be engaging and include some of the keywords you found in the last step. Keep it short but detailed enough to pique someone’s interest.

Also, write a description that gives an overview of what the viewer can expect to learn in the video. Don’t forget to include some of those primary keywords naturally throughout the text.

Use High-Quality Thumbnails

A good thumbnail can make all the difference.

It instantly attracts attention and gives the audience a glimpse into what kind of vibe they can expect from the video. The best-performing thumbnails use vibrant colors and are easy to read.

Tools like Canva and Adobe Photoshop can help you create high-quality thumbnails that stand out.

Add Closed Captions and Transcripts

Adding closed captions (CC) and transcripts to your videos not only makes them more accessible for viewers with hearing impairments but also improves SEO (Search Engine Optimization) by giving search engines more detailed text about your video.

You can manually create CC files for voiceover videos, use automatic transcription services like Rev, or use YouTube’s built-in auto-captioning feature.

Some AI video editor programs, like invideo, can also do this automatically for you.

My Experience Using Text-to-Video With invideo

I signed up for a free trial with invideo Studio to try out their AI text-to-video tool.

When first creating a new video, you had the option to either start with a pre-built template, turn text into video, pick out stock media, or go straight to a blank video editor.

I selected the AI text-to-video tool.

Next, invideo asked me to choose from dozens of templates. They all had a different look and feel to them – I’m certain you could find one for any vibe that you’re going for.

And once you’re in the editor, they’re very customizable, so don’t be discouraged if you can’t find a perfect template.

I liked that invideo gave me multiple ways to add my text. I could either insert it directly into the text box, ask AI to help me write a script, or convert articles by pasting the URL.

I decided to manually copy and paste a few paragraphs from a previous article I wrote about digital creators.

Once I inputted my text, invideo created a new scene for each sentence of text.

At this point, I encourage you to browse around and play with some of their tools. There’s a lot you can do!

On the right toolbar, you can find different stock videos or photos, music, add text, add a logo, add shapes and elements, or choose a block from another template.

On the left side of the video editor, it gives me all the elements that were used to create the scene I’m looking at. I can click on each one to edit it, delete it, or move it over or under other elements.

They also had a ton of different transitions you could use for in-between each scene.

If you want to do a voiceover video, you can use the button at the bottom of the editor to add an automatic voiceover from your text, import your own voiceover file, or record a voiceover on your own.

I tried the ‘Automated text to speech’ and it gave me the option to listen to about ten different voices and choose which one I wanted for my video.

After I added the voiceover, invideo automatically adjusted the length of my scenes to match up with the voice, so the pacing was tight and there weren’t any long pauses.

When you’re done putting the final touches on your video, you can upgrade to a paid version to export the video.

You can also resize your video, which I thought was super cool! This way, you can do a wide video and a square video easily so you can put them on different social media sites. I tried converting my wide video to a vertical one and it worked pretty well. There were a few tweaks I had to make with the layout, but it didn’t take more than a couple of minutes.

Overall, I was able to create a new video super easily! This is a great way to start adding more platforms to your online presence.
